The political crisis which engulfed Ireland in general, and Ulster in particular, at the beginning of the 20th century led to increased interest and involvement in politics. The Orange Order was revitalised. Membership grew and a large number of new halls were built in the first decade of the 20th century. Monthly meetings were well attended and the Orange Hall was also used for a variety of social activities.
