For the middle classes yachting, like golf, had become a popular leisure activity. The photograph shows the Whitehead Yacht Club that was built in 1911. It became the headquarters of the Co. Antrim Yacht Club. Both yachting and golf allowed the middle classes to engage in sports where they could be completely separate from the working classes.
