Summary: Campbell College

Key dates:

In Belfast, schools like St. Malachy’s and Victoria charged high fees which meant that only wealthy families were interested, but the city’s most exclusive school was Campbell College. Founded in 1894 by Henry James Campbell, a very wealthy linen merchant, Campbell was modelled on the great English public schools and many Campbell pupils went on to attend Oxford and Cambridge.
