Summary: Evidence from Mount Sandel

Key dates:

The excavations at Mount Sandel suggest that it was a popular location. Although there are many different post holes, it seems that there was only ever one large hut there at any one time. Close to the main hut was a manufacturing area where stone tools were made and skins scraped. The existence of some large deep pits suggest that they were used for storage. The fact that such a substantial dwelling existed at Mount Sandel probably means that the people there had become more settled in their lifestyle.
