Summary: Rules for Shipyard Workers

Key dates:

As the shipyard paid the best wages for workers in Belfast, there was great competition for places at the yard. This was in spite of the fact that the working day began just after 6.00 a.m. and workers were required to work on Saturday mornings. At their place of work the men were bound by a very strict set of rules.
