Summary: Kilrea Fairy Thorn

Key dates:

The fairy thorn in the village of Kilrea, Co. Derry became one of the best known landmarks in the area. It grew out over the footpath when the graveyard wall was built and it was encased in concrete and propped up with an iron rail to protect it. Locals often made wishes standing below the tree.
