Summary: Art and Pottery

Key dates:

The medieval people continued to develop the artistic work of their ancestors. Exquisite works of art such as the Cross of Cong are examples of this fine work. Pottery was widely made for bowls and drinking cups, called methers. Pottery kilns are rare but one was found in the Carrickfergus excavations.
