Summary: Gosford Letter

Key dates:

This letter of 13 July 1796 is Lord Gosford’s account of the previous day’s Orange parade in Co. Armagh. Although the writing style is impressive, it was, as you can see, very difficult to read. Gosford reported to Dublin Castle that the parade had been very peaceful.
