Key dates:

The Battle of Ballynahinch took place in June 1798. A government force of nearly 3,000 men commanded by Major-General George Nugent converged and routed the insurgents who marched from Saintfield. The battle was the most significant engagement in Ulster in the 1798 Rebellion.
