Key dates:
The two decades before the 1st World War saw a literary revival in Ireland as a group of brilliant writers, poets and playwrights produced a wealth of quality material which is still popular today. The most famous of these literary figures was W.B Yeats. One of his best known, if not his best, poems was The Lake Isle of Innisfree, a final version of which appeared in 1890, when he was in his mid-20s.
