Summary: old English and Irish 3

Key dates:

The third style of dress had a high neck and a semi-fitted bodice. The skirt was full and the belt was decorated. The sleeves were buttoned from the cuffs to the upper arms. As Spain’s political influential increased so did its impact on fashion. Women’s dress developed in a stiff geometric style in which the bodice flattened the bust and ended in a point at the front. It had a bellshaped skirt which opened in a triangular at the front which showed the skirt or cote underneath.
